President
The President is accountable for setting the strategy that is aligned to the vision and mission of the GTA Rewards Association. Responsibilities also include overseeing strategy execution, the development, implementation and maintenance of board governance, succession, code of conduct and adherence of governmental requirements and legislation. The President is accountable to the membership to ensure they have opportunities to engage and escalate issues. With the guidance of the GTA Rewards Association Advisory Board, the President ensures that board initiatives remain relevant to the GTA Rewards Association membership and to the future growth and sustainability of the association. The President presides at all meetings, oversees the agenda and acts as the primary liaison with WorldatWork representatives and Local Network staff.
Secretary & VPThe Secretary provides advice, guidance and support to the Board of Directors on governance, statutory/regulatory and governmental requirements as well as best practice and standards. This includes but not limited to timely communication and, as applicable, implementation of Board decisions on actions and ensuring the Board of Directors follow and comply with governance and best practice. The Secretary is also required to maintain information flows to and within the Board of Directors alongside timely preparation of Minutes of meetings. The position is expected to contribute to the strategic development and success of the association in line with the association’s priorities and membership interests. VP Member EngagementThe Vice President, Member Engagement is accountable to our membership, Board and Advisory Board to develop association strategies that will positively impact the member value proposition and drive engagement. This position oversees the annual membership campaign, member engagement survey and various activities as required. Serving as the liaison to both our Corporate and non-Corporate members, this position provides general membership support as needed and oversees the Association’s volunteer strategy. Vice President, Communications and Social MediaThe Vice President, Communications and Social Media is accountable for setting the strategy and overseeing the Communications and Social Media portfolio with a focus on communications planning, engaging our membership through mass-member communications and providing creative direction on our multiple social media channels. It also has leadership responsibilities overseeing the volunteer-based Communications and Social Media team. Vice President, EventsThe Vice President, Events is accountable to set the strategic direction, lead and oversee the activities of the Events Committee which is mandated to set an ongoing agenda of events that develop our members both professionally and personally. This includes keeping abreast of topical areas impacting total rewards while discovering new and interesting ways to deliver thought leadership that will engage members. The Vice President, Events ensures member feedback is incorporated into the events planning process and that there is a focus on continuous improvement through post event reviews. The Vice President, Events enables effective delivery of events in the most cost efficient manner and works closely with the VP, Communications and VP, Member Engagement to create excitement and awareness. Vice President, Strategic InitiativesThe Vice President, Strategic Initiatives works with the President and Vice Presidents to set the strategic direction of the GTA Rewards Association. The Vice President Strategic Initiatives also leads and has oversight of special projects as they relate to the strategic direction and day-to-day activities of the association. Strategic initiatives vary from year-to-year depending on the focus of the association, the membership needs, and key initiatives. This role also manages corporate sponsorship. Vice President FinanceThe Vice President, Finance is accountable for the financial strategy of the GTA Rewards Association as well as the financial planning and reporting. This includes ensuring the financial wellbeing of the association by monitoring accounts, investing funds, and aligning and monitoring budgets to annual projects and key initiatives. The Vice President Finance ensures controls are in place so that funds are appropriately used to enable the future growth and sustainability of the association. This role also manages external relationships with the association’s bookkeeper and accounting firm. Vice President, EducationThe Vice President, Education directs and shapes the education programs for the association. Accountabilities include determining and overseeing the World@Work courses sponsored by the association and is the liaison between the corporate member companies, World@Work and course participants. The VP, Education collaborates with colleges/universities to increase the awareness of the total rewards profession to students with an objective to build a pipeline of future total rewards professionals in the GTA.
